Pollinate - May 2025
Sustainable practices in event management are no longer a nice to do, they are a must do, not just for the philosophical or community obligations but also for the imperatives of doing business.
SCEIA hosted this event because of requests from our industry networks and to highlight recent research we have conducted into industry trends which have proven the above statement.
The event featured a highly engaging panel discussion led by Jan Willet. Jan is a Director of Sunshine Coast 2032 and has recently joined our SCEIA committee.

Events Versus the Cost of Living - July 2024 Event Wrap
The events industry is extremely diverse as it encompasses sporting, cultural, fundraising, corporate and private celebrations. Yet one thing all events have in common is that audiences are typically using their discretionary income to attend them.
This can be challenging for events when happening in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis.
SCEIA brought together a panel of experts from across the events sectors at Solbar in Maroochydore to discuss the challenges of, and successful tactics for, operating in these economically challenging times.

Mix 'n' Mingle - November 2024
As event workers we are always at the center of celebrations - facilitated for others. Sometimes we just want to get together with our peers and colleagues and do a little celebrating for ourselves! Some 75 local events peeps came together at SCEIA's Mix 'n' Mingle to do just that.

The Sunshine Coast Nighttime Economy - What's Really Going On
At our March 2024 Sunshine Coast Night-Time Economy event, researchers from UniSC School of Business and Creative Industries presented research findings into perceptions, barriers and recommendations for our region’s hospitality and live entertainments scene.
